How our service works
LOLER Thorough Examination does not examine lifting equipment. Site, fleet, facilities and care managers use this free service to reach a competent examiner for their forklifts, hoists, vehicle lifts, cranes and lifts. Here is each step after you send a request.
Tell us about the equipment
What equipment you have, roughly how many items, how many sites, when the last reports were issued, and how to reach you.
We look for an examiner
A competent person who covers your sites, examines your kind of equipment and is independent of whoever maintains it.
We tell you who it is
Usually within one working day, by email or phone. Your details go to them only once you say so.
Equipment list and written fee
The examiner confirms the items, intervals and visit dates with you and gives you a written fee. Whether you book is up to you, and any contract is yours with the examiner alone.
What we are
A small introduction service. No examining, testing, servicing or equipment sales happen here, no engineer surveyors work for us, and any firm with a similar sounding name has nothing to do with this site.
What we do not do
- Charge you anything, at any stage.
- Pass your details on until you have said yes, or to any firm beyond the single examiner we name.
- Examine your equipment, or say whether it is safe to use. Only a competent person who has examined it can.
- Give legal advice. Our notes on the law are general information.
- Send you newsletters or marketing.
Who pays for it
An examiner we introduce may pay us an introduction fee. You pay us nothing, whether or not you book them.
Our figures and guides
Fees on this site are typical ranges from examiners’ published price lists and guides and from public contract notices, and each page says when we read them. They help you budget and compare; only an examiner’s written quote is a price. Notes on LOLER and PUWER are general information, not legal advice.

Thanks, your enquiry is in.
